Our mission
Help UK homeowners make a confident, informed decision about heat pumps and the Boiler Upgrade Scheme — without the marketing spin, without selling their data, and without pretending heat pumps are always the right answer.
How we make money
MCS-certified installers can pay £199/month for a postcode-exclusive featured listing, or pay per lead they receive. That payment never affects the ordering of installers in proximity-ranked search results. Featured listings appear in a clearly labelled slot above the main results.
We do not run display ads. We do not take commissions on heat pump sales. We do not sell personal data to third parties — your postcode is used to look up local installers and is never passed on without your explicit consent.
Editorial standards
- Every article reviewed by an MCS-certified engineer. Reviewers are named on the article, with their MCS number visible.
- Every figure sourced inline. Cost figures cite DESNZ, Ofgem, MCS or Energy Saving Trust publications. Running cost calculations show their working.
- No AI-generated content published without review. We use AI tools for research and first drafts. Nothing reaches the site without a human heating engineer's sign-off.
- Last-reviewed dates on every page. If we have not reviewed a page in 12 months, the warning shows automatically.
- Corrections published openly. If we make a mistake, the change is logged at the bottom of the page, not silently edited.
Our data sources
- Boiler Upgrade Scheme rules: DESNZ — UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero
- Installer credentials: MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) public register
- Energy prices: Ofgem price cap data, updated each cap change
- Running costs and SCOP figures: Energy Saving Trust, BEIS efficiency studies
- Property data (EPC lookups): MHCLG / DLUHC EPC register
Who runs heatpumpsaver
heatpumpsaver.co.uk is operated by Heat Pump Saver Ltd, a small UK company. We are not affiliated with any heat pump manufacturer, energy supplier, or installer business.
Editorial reviewers are MCS-certified heating engineers contracted on a per-article basis — they review for technical accuracy. They are paid a flat fee per review and have no stake in any installer's commercial performance.
